Game Cover Design Proposal

Game Cover Design Proposal

What’s the genre, what’s it about?
My game is action oriented, set in a futuristic world. It is a first person shooter based on assassination, very similar to Dishonoured.

Title of the game
It will be called Laser Wars. But the title will be in all caps and spelled with Zs instead of Ses to appeal to a younger audience.

Theme
Since the game is based in the future, there’s going to be lots of lasers. It’s a first person shooter, so lots of big guns and explosions would work with the theme.
The game is going to feel as though you, when playing as the main character have the weight of the entire world resting on your shoulders.

Colours
The colours used will be very monochrome. In the setting of my game, the cities have many very tall, metal buildings. Having the buildings all be the same variety of brown or blue will increase how large the future setting seems. There will be lots of brightly coloured lasers to contrast with the bland buildings. The explosions and splashes of sunlight are going to be made from very warm colours such as orange or red.

Character
The protagonist, who is the focus of the game, is an emotionless killer who has to improvise with new technology to kill his target. The idea of the character is that you never get to see their face, they are always wearing a mask. This makes them very mysterious.

Conventions
I am going to stick with conventions on this cover. My game is of a very simple genre, so sticking to a simple theme for the game case cover would be best. If I stick to conventions, I can focus more clearly on what the game is meant to be about
Artwork & Effects
The artwork used is obviously going to be very futuristic. Lots of straight lines, few curves shapes and lots of jagged spikes to symbolise danger.
If I use a simple background for my cover, it will draw attention to the  main character who is on the front

Institutional Information
The institutional information, the information that describes what the game will be about, is going to be on the back cover. A short summary of the game is necessary to draw a buyers attention to a potentially interesting story.
